Protecting the environment in the New Forest

We're spending nearly £30m on improving our wastewater treatment works in the New Forest and parts of the Test Valley to improve our impact on the local environment.

background

What are we doing?

We've delivering a programme of projects across Whiteparish, Lyndhurst, Romsey and Redlynch to allow us to treat wastewater to a higher standard by reducing phosphorous and iron levels.

This work will also reduce storm overflows by increasing the capacity of sites and upgrading existing equipment, so they can manage increased flows. As part of this, a new storm tank will be installed at Redlynch Wastewater Treatment Works.

The projects will bring greater environmental benefits to the area, its wildlife and the local community, as well as meeting new Environment Agency regulations.
